Rear anti roll bar replacement

Once the rear anti roll bar bushes have been removed and the drop links can the anti roll bar be pulled out? Thanks.

No, the body needs lifting off the chassis to get the bar out and back in

My ARB ist pretty rusty.
Is it save to just replace the bushes?
Body off seems to be a too big job $$$.

Thanks. Can the body be jacked enough to get the bar out by loosening the body bolts or do they have to come out completely?

Chatted with a Anrover mechanic. He says there might just be enough room with the body jacked up, but you'll have to try it and see. He also said there a risk of cracking the front screen if just the back is raised. Really need to hear from someone who has managed to do it? May have to refurb the existing bar, it's really rusty!

Is it not possible to clean it up, best as you can from underneath? Get the bar loose and move it about etc.

It might be possible, but I have a new one - shame not to fit it.

Disco Mikey is the one to believe it’s his every day job. If he says the body needs to come off then that’s what will be needed.

It can be done, but you need to undo all the body mounting bolts. I did mine a few years ago.

Loosen but do not remove the front two and next two bolts, just enough to allow the body to lift up at the back, but yet hold the body and chassis in their respective locations. all the remaining bolt should be removed fully. Now the body can be jacked off the chassis, at the back, enough to remove the roll bar. I put a block of wood under the rear sills and used a trolley jack a little at a time on each side and propped it up with axil stands while the bar was manoeuvred out.

While the body is up it's an opportunity to clean up any rust under the rear of the body and seal it.

Not a full body off, but as above, needs lifting around 6-7 inches off the chassis

Thanks for all the info. I think Ill have a go at body raising. The LR mechanic seemed to think there was a chancevif cracking the front screen. Is this correct? Also once the rear bumper is removed is there anything that needs disconnecting to raise the rear 6 inches? Thanks. it will be useful to raise the rear and POR15 any rust. I have already rebuilt the entire front suspension. Is it worth replacing any of the rear suspension whilst it is raised?
