Rear Brake Binding Issue

I have a Discovery 3 on a 55 plate, and have an issue with the rear driver side brake binding. it only started a few days ago, when i noticed a burning smell coming from the rear brakes, as well as the wheel itself getting really hot. Also when driving in the morning, there is a noise coming from the same area, which im not sure is connected to the same problem.

Do the disco 3 have any issues with rear brakes binding? or can it be more serious which coulld be problems with the handbrake system?

Thanks for any help

Hi there Gilford, welcome aboard Thumbs Up

Now it could be one of two things. The 1st being the EPB module not releasing the EPB properly, and/or the the EPB shoes need adjusting.

Or

Like me I had the module changed cos this happened, only for a few months later the caliper stuck, binding the pads. This happens cos the pads are wearing out and they seem to seize. I would try the pads 1st, easy job to change and the pads are a NEW design to eliminate water ingress and squeaking.
