Reverse camera installed. Is there a hidden menu on the d4 screen so I can test?

I’ve put a post up about someone local with an iid tool

I had the same......

This is what solved my problem.... (copied from my reaction in another topic)

Well... to keep you updated, interesting development today...

I did receive a PAL HD camera, today..... as a replacement for the NTSC ....

BUT, it still did not work! Censored

Bottom line, their first supplied cable , tulip-tulip.... was faulty... (is needs NTSC)

I did check it with the new supplied cable... and working like a dream!
========

Thumbs Up
 Best regards
Harold

Same as motolab

Although if it’s a camera issue I’m thinking of looking for one to fit the blanking plate.

The cable they supplied is a 3 wire...(internally). and you need it to go to 2 wire...

Be sure /check you have the correct wires from camera to the screen.... as far as i remember it is + and - “sensitive” regarding what goes in the screen....

I seem to remember that peteK once made a description what on which pin...

So “play” with the wires can solve your issue...

I am very with the quality of the camera.... it is really good...

I thought the 3rd wire (red) was to allow the power for camera from front of vehicle. From what I remember I have the yellow wire on pin 2 and black on pin 5. Red goes to switch live on 12v socket.
I’m thinking maybe a bad ground tbh

Not talking about the red wire...

But yellow, black and a “blank” shield/ un isolated” like wire that is the third... Wink

I think, that is the minus (from memory) but play with those 3

Just Try it....

Hi,

I'm about to install rear camera on my disco 3 and was wondering where do you guys get the positive (+) for the camera form? Does anyone goes for the rear light? If so, is camera working only when in reverse?

I was thinking to get the + from the parktronic button light:

And checked with the multimeter these wires:

Getting 12V when basically the light is on. The idea to connect to these wires is when start parking camera not to turn off when changing from R to D.
Any thoughts? Do I have to change the fuse for that light?
 Thanks,
Tiho

No not there.

Either connect it to the rear of the cigar lighter / power socket. (Front or boot etc)
Or to the blue wire behind the lcd display

Of piggy back off fuse 56 behind glovebox
