My rear drivers door won’t open from the inside or outside when unlocked. I have tried to unlock by pulling the handles whilst pressing the dash buttons but to no avail. The child lock is also on.
How can I release the door to replace the mechanism? I understand the door card can be removed with the door open, is it the case with the door stuck shut or will the door card need to be destroyed in order to gain access?

Try this (it worked for me):
Pull the door handle WHILE pulling the door lock lever. (If your child lock it on, try to pull the external door handle WHILE pulling the lock lever inside) The movement must be synchronised.
My right rear door is permanently locked. When I need to open I simply do that.

There's only one way you've got to trash the door card.
I can't emphasise enough once the door lock starts playing up change the mechanism, once the door is locked and you can't open it it is a nightmare of a job.
It is also good practice to routinely check all doors have infact locked. It can when others can't,
It will when others won't,
It goes where others don't.
