Rear drawers - D3 v D4

A quick yes/no if possible.

Assuming rear drawers that require removal of the 3rd row of seats, are the fixing points for twin rear drawers the same for D3 and D4?

Also, I've been told there is a roof fixing for a central division some where in/around the roof light. Again is this common to D3 and D4?

Looking into buying second hand kit from a D4 to fit to my D3.

Thanks as usual.

Pete

As far as I'm aware the Fixings for the 3rd row seats etc are the same for D4 as a D3, and the tie down points etc are all the same so drawers for a D4 will fit a D3.

With regards to a fixing point, I've not heard of anything in either car, but that really doesn't mean there isn't one. What is it you're looking at fixing to it?

Thanks, I'd hoped that would be the case.

The roof fixing relates to a central dividing 'cage'.

From owned both and having stripped middle & rear seats out of both there is no real difference. The facelift didn’t really do much behind the B pillar. Thumbs Up

Ducking for cover! Laughing Laughing

PS Don’t drawers just sit on the 3rd row seats? : Confused

DSL - thanks, apparently the seats come out and there is a 'useable' void below.

Access still available to the spare wheel winch.

Have you really made 70,000 posts?

Hmmm, the space you free up isn’t that useful as the row seats are pretty thin (~5cm) and curved. I had a load deck fitted for camping and wondered if I could cut an access hatch to use that space but concluded there wasn’t any point.

Re 70k posts, just getting warmed up! Laughing Laughing Laughing Would be more if I had a D3 or D4 but I kicked that habit 3 1/4 years ago. Whistle

Here's a decent pair of rear drawers.

How can you use a void when you've bolted a drawer pack over it?

You put access hatches in, i agree that there isn't much usable space.
I've just finished (sort of) a rear storage solution for my D3, commercially made drawers are heavy and to me not that useful as they are shallow so made my own.
The kitchen i got cheap off gumtree and has a flip over table which i need to hinge in the middle as it doesn't clear the top tailgate and i'll put a drawer above the kitchen for smaller items like my solar blanket.

Apologies for starting this and not completing matters. Got rather distracted by suspension issues.

That setup looks amazing.

For my part , I bought an experienced set of draws and cages off eBay which came from a D4 commercial, but hopefully no issues.

Also indebted to whoever produced this gem.

Looks like it’s hardly worth removing the rear seats for space, but does anyone know what they weigh?

Also need to figure access to the spare wheel as the draws are built solid.

Thanks

I heard that the 3rd row are about 30kg, space would be good for a water bladder.

Thanks, happy to leave 30Kgs in place.

This is a first time for me so looking for a setup with rather more off the shelf kit.

Also maybe a leak I can't get at?

Enthusiasm somewhat dampened as I meet the first problem.

Anyone figured out how to leave the rear seats in, mount rear draws and still be able to access the spare wheel?

I can’t even get a wobble drive on there.

Many thanks.
