Rear fogs not working.

Hi all, looking for some electrical help. Both rear fogs aren't working. I have checked the bulbs fuses, links etc and all ok. I removed the light clusters to begin tracing the wiring, the brown is a common ground and a red goes to the fog light, the red is joined to a blue/black single cable and this loops to the opposite side and that's it. No feed at all. ??? I removed the spare tyre to double check there was no connection underneath I missed ,but no. Looks like they never worked. Inside the LHS storage box is a bunch of connectors so I presume that the feed is here but not connected. Does anyone have a schematic of this loom so I can test and hopefully reconnect them. Thanks. Oh yeah it's and 08 disco.

I think you need to amend the thread title as it looks like you fixed them. Wink

I could be totally wrong here (probably) but did someone else have a similar problem before and it was a small switch in the towing socket that was stuck. I had never heard of the switch but it turns off the fogs on the back of the car when towing so that if you have trailer fogs they can be turned on without the cars fogs shining on the front of the trailer/caravan

Thanks, but iv read through most of the threads ,,this looks like it was never even wired up, just a single loop between the fogs Question Cable on the right has a label with r on it and the left with an l and that's it.

Do you have trailer electrics fitted? If so check the pins to see if you have power on the fogs pin. Also the fuses in the rear nearside cubbyhole does it look as if there’s anything amiss with the fog fuse or wires to that fuse.

Ya there is a trailer plug, I'll check the pin for power next. I've checked all the cubby fuses and wiring connections all fine. Which colour is the fog when inside the cubby ?

Could be that whoever wired in the trailer lights made a mistake

pin 2 on (7 pin socket) is the fogs.

Check to see if a 7.5A fuse in the rear cubby has power on it when the fogs are on.

P.S THe ignition needs to be on. Do you get an orange light on in the speedo ?

Ok, is it not pin 2 and 3? 3 being the earth.2 being the fog. Just checked anyway no power in fog but all others working fine. Fuses in the rear cubby were checked and none blown all working. 4 of them if I remember correctly.

Four fuses?
There are six fuses on the block in my 2006 D3.

Yep 4. Cannot attach a pic for some reason. Had a look inside and no more to be seen. Anyone have the colour coding or a schematic?

Feed to the rear fogs should be red with a yellow trace. Earth is black on the light cluster.
