Rear knuckle bushings
Good afternoon All.
Quick question..Do I have to remove a rear knuckle to replace both bushings, lower and upper, well specifically lower as it is screeching like a hay wagon ? I believe there is a cir clip that holds the lower in place, it does not looks like it has to press out and in ? Thanks

You should be able to extract them on the car with the use of a suitable puller. The retaining clip is not difficult to remove if expanded, and a small screwdriver used to prise it from the recessed groove.
I have only done them as part of a full hub rebuild (bearing and back plate etc) which means the unavoidable destruction of the wheel bearing!! You will need the wheel alignment recalibrated and replacement of the bolts would be recommended.
If you decide on a full rebuild a 20 ton press will be needed for the bearing. The only other point can be separating the knuckle from the drive shaft, a very large hydraulic puller can sometimes be needed as the splines become rusted.yµ (idµ - eAµ) ψ=mψ

Thanks.
All I am looking at is a lower knuckle bushing replacement for the moment as it is done. I should have replaced it when I was removing lower and upper control arms a few years back, oh well.

If that's all you have to do its not that big an issue. The tool in hand will (puller) will usually dictate your progress!yµ (idµ - eAµ) ψ=mψ
