Rear Nearside Passenger Door Will Not Open

Hi All
Sorry my first post comes as a question, but any help would be appreciated.

Any ideas on why the rear nearside passenger door has locked and will not open. All other doors including tailgate open fine. Have tried locking and unlocking several times to no avail. Any help appreciated to avoid (another) trip to the stealers!!!

Cheers.[/b]

It happened to us last year, after the boy (5 years) decided to stress-test the child lock. The door lock then failed, which stress-tested daddy's sense of humour. We thought that a trip to the dealer was going to be required but after a few days the lock started to work again (and daddy's sense of humour returned). All has been fine since.

BTW, welcome, and Happy New Year. Thumbs Up

NJF - thanks for the advice, will leave it a few days and see if it clears the problem. Happy New Year to you too.

Known problem I'm afraid - search the site for info. I had the same thing on same door and later the front N/S. Dealer replaced mechanisms under warranty at the time. Stress the safety angle of not being able to get in/out in an emergency!! Seem to remember you can get it to open (and it will be OK for a bit then fail again) by pressing the unlock on the plip and pulling on the inside handle at the same time - may take several attempts but this is not the cure.
Hope that helps
