Can anyone confirm that the wiring loom would be in place for adding this unit? or is this specced at the build.

Just spent ages typing a reply and it crashed as I went to post it .. 
Brief answer is likely to be no you can't... 
I assume that as you don't already have rear controls your D3 has the low end audio and not the Logic7 high end system.
The logic7 system uses an amp / controller under the passenger seat, this I believe handles the rear controls, therefore no amp = no rear controls.

What we really need is a control panel from one of the rear doors to try in a lower end spec. I would like to do the same on my S D3 but not sure if it would work either. Looked at buying the ones on e bay, only a few pounds but they are for the back two seats, I am lloking for the centre row of seats to have the audio control availability. Is anybody in the position to try a control panel from their hi spec D3 in sombody elses lower spec D3.  MY17 D5 1st Edition Namib Orange
