Rear upper brake light in tailgate

Has anyone ever fitted a replacement tailgate brake light? How easy is it to remove, bearing in mind the rear screen jet is also fitted !! As mine seems to have developed some nasty looking cracks Big Cry

Presume you get to it from inside the tailgate, any ideas as to how the interior plastic covers come off ?

Regards in advance.

Kidz,

I assume I have the same thing, I have around horizontal 4 inches long crack in the middle of the light. I defently not hit anything with it as it is not the outside edge on the light, I recon it is a stress fucture.

I looked into it and I was told that they have to cut it out (destroy it) as it is glued to the frame. Maybe they have to paint the surranding as well...

My solution was to put 2 component transparent glue in the crack, it looks more or less OK and the crack not grown yet in a year.

A real pain to replace. Grinding it out is the best method, if you are careful you won't need to repaint.
When fitting the new prime the plastic first.
