Rear Upper Wishbone Bushes |
|
Need to replace mine along with the Rack Rod Ends so wanted to do it all in one so can get it tracked straight away.
Are they difficult? Any tips?
I have a well equiped workshop.

The car is in JE Engineering at the moment for a service and they picked up on these. Think i might change most of the bushes while there as they are £11 each!
Has any fitted poly bushes yet, always had them on Defenders whith good success.

Front track rod ends, i assume? Just double check its not play in the steering arm ball joints. Quite common to wear, giving the impression of worn track rods...
As for the rear bushes, have fun!
The rear bolt seizes inside the bush, and requires a great deal of chiseling/levering/hitting with hammers to remove. I have also seen one where the bolt had to be gassed off and the chassis brackets bent outwards to let the arm come out... And obviously, there are loads of air pipes and wiring running right along the top of the chassis rails...
And the bolt in the upper hub bush sometimes seizes, and needs attacking with a grinder/air saw etc...
Not a job for the faint hearted. If you need any more info, drop me a PM
