For top gear standards it was ok

The problem is that Top Gear standards are nowhere near what they used to be. The bar is set pretty low these days, it seems.

So after previous comments on this site, I watched the 'Dads cars' one.
Its the first one I've watched in a good while, I find Chris Harris OK, but I find the other two a complete turn off for me, so it's going to be a while before I watch another.
But I hardly watch any TV anyway, maybe 3 hours a week at max so I'm nothing like your'e typical viewer

I wouldn't call top gear a serious motoring programme for me just harmless entertainment

Here's an old-school Top Gear review of the G-Wagon versus Landcruiser versus Range Rover by good old JC

May be this is more to your liking... Rolling with laughter

G-Wagon was already £48K then, 30 years ago. Notice how unchanged it is.

watched TG last night, thought it was hilarious. It appeared to me that the off road stuff was on private land and not open to the public but it definitely showed that LR have got the new Defender bang on right for the current markets.
No its not really an informative motoring program anymore, for that Ive always preferred Fifth Gear as they are mostly actual race drivers, plus VBH is much better looking than the TG presenters.

COVID restrictions have more than likely been to blame for what can and can't be produced at the moment.

It might not have been the format some expected, but I thoroughly enjoyed it, an hour of light hearted entertainment, and with some of the comments, so much funnier than some so called comedy programmes.

Anything that means I don't have to watch 'reality' TV is a win win for me.

Enjoyed it also. I couldn't help think of the Merc engine in the Defender. Whistle

I did a Mercedes Experience day and drove the AMG GT Coupe and the engine is a gem and sounds even better in the flesh

I. Can't. Stand. Paddy. McGuinness.

Sorry, had to say it. Other two are ok, Flintoff has grown on me an Harris is grand. But Paddy is just too base. Their 'chemistry' is too forced and lacks genuine warmth below the nonsense.

Halfway through the episode and it is fine so far.
