2005 Discovery 3 TDV6 S Auto Bonatti Grey

Reconditioned engine

Anyone any advice on reconditioned engine anyone had one done if so by whom, reason for asking relations discovery 4 engine failed I have read comments on forum not to use reconditioned engine buy 2nd hand etc, but relation has been to hi range landrover specialist in burton on Trent where they are Saying they recondition for about £4250
Has anyone got any advice before he goes this route I’m still thinking 2nd hand engine the way to go

I would not go the recon route as the history of same is very dubious. £4250 from a main dealer for a recon? You would want to check exactly what you are getting for that price. I think a new block is around £3.5k plus vat, plus fitting. So £5 to £6k from a dealer would be the ball park. Others more familiar with UK prices should be able to confirm. yµ (idµ - eAµ) ψ=mψ

No the £4250 was with Landrover specialist not a main dealer to recondition engine

Before you decide anything you should go and visit HiRange, for yourself, in person.

Your not far away,and there is a really nice marina near by at Barton Under Needwood so you could make a bit of a day of it. Discovery 4 3.0 HSE 2010 year. I like it a lot. Now with winch 😂

Oh yes I misread, even so tread carefully as there are real horror stories when it comes to recon TDV6 engines. You could look out for a accident damaged Jaguar or D4, its another option! yµ (idµ - eAµ) ψ=mψ
