Hi,
Im a new discovery3 owner. Have just owned the car for 1 month and drove about 5000km. I had some problem this weekend:
Friday a red oil lamp was shown on my panel. I stopped the car and checked the oil, which was quite low, but not below minimun. Was near a gas station so went there and filled it up, about 0,5 liters. After that, the lamp disappeared and I drove about 8km home.
Saturday, the next day, the red oil lamp appeared again. Checked the oil and it was a bit above maximunm. So no leackage. Had just started the engine for a short time but it sounded/felt ok.
Anyone have any ideas?
Thanks in advance,
Tobias

Get it straight into a garage , could just be an iffy oil pressure switch or something a bit more serious as lack of oil pressure and if driven with the latter you may seriously knacker the engine .
Good luck

Further to the above, you may have added an oil that isn't compatible with that already in the sump. The Bearded Dragon

did your oil warning come up after a car wash or heavy rain? My V8 shocked me with the oil pressure warning around christmas but the car managed to fix the fault itself during a few days in a dry car parking.
The cause was water ingress via the winscreen pilar (left side).
In case you have the water issue -> there is a TSB LA501-007
I would still recommend to have it checked as I toasted a Jaguar XJ6 engine several years ago by trusting the mechanics that the "oil pressure switches always give false warnings"....

I toasted my defender last year.. "oil pressure switches always give false warnings"
But this time i actually think its false warnings. Havent seen the oil lamp for two days, and everything seems ok. Probably some sensor, but i booked a time at the workshop just in case.
Thanks for the help and your comments!
