Refitting The CJB

Hello Everyone

This is my first post as I am newly registered although been trawling the usefull information on this forum for the last ten years or so having had my D3 2005 for the last 12 years.

Can anybody out there please help with a simpler way of refitting the CJB back in it is the plugs on the back that I am struggling like mad Censored with for the last 6 hours it must be the laying on my back soaking wet from sunroof pipe fail and gorrila hands with sausage fingers that are not helping... there has got to be an easier way than what i am trying.

Thanks in advance to anyone who can help. Big Cry

'normal' technique is to put cable ties on the clamp levers so that you just need to seat the connectors and then pull on the cable tie.
Good luck!

Thanks Highlands for the prompt response.
I am struggling to even get my hands to the rear connectors Big Cry this is sure going to test my patience and also the skin on my knuckles.

I did mine recently, a faff but made a massive amount easier by removing the two lowest relays (giving just a little more room to lever the CJB forwards) and then attaching small but long zip ties to the rear plugs. Then just place each plug into its recess (don’t make the mistake of trying to fully clip them - the action of pulling the levers down actually levers them into place). Once roughly set into place, pull the zip ties and the plugs levers itself down snuggly into the recess and clips form into place.

Feel free to PM me your number and I’ll call in the morning if you need me to talk it through.

Make sure the lever a fully up.

Locate the connector
Keep some pressure on the connector which moving the lever down.
If the red bit can’t be seen it is in correctly.

It’s surprising how much room there is behind, if the cjb isn’t full up.

Many Thanks to all that replied you was all a great help Bow down

I managed to get the CJB back in and car all back together (leak free now I hope) it did still take a good 4 hours to get the damn CJB back in everything else was pretty standard it was the CJB that gave me the kicking it has taken most of the skin off my knuckles and left me feeling like I had let Mike Tyson use my back as a punchbag from laying over the door siil.

Thanks again and no doubt we will speak soon on the forum i have just treated myself to a iiD Tool BT so dare say I will get myself in a pickle with that at some stage.
