After driving a Freelander and a Freelander 2, I bought a brand new Discovery Sport which proved to be a bad decision. A really bad decision. After a replacement car (which was worse) and a refund, I was left wondering what to do. So I bought a D4.
It's a 2013 HSE SDV6 in Aintree Green with a cream interior. It had done 101k miles when I bought it, and with work it's now clocked up a few more.
The reason I didn't really want one is that they're bigger than I need, and if I want a vehicle that's more capable than a Freelander 2 off road I have a Defender 110 double-cab to play with.
That said, it's growing on me quite a lot.
I bought it from a friend who'd previously had a D3 commercial, and he included the full-length chequer plate load bed with the D4. A very useful addition for carrying stuff around - which I tend to do quite a lot of. Not to mention towing.
And I've since added a Mantec 'Load Lugger' shelf too for smaller, lighter bits and pieces.
At the recent Kelmarsh show I was eyeing up various bits and pieces for it, but so far I'm resisting. I've only had it a few weeks, but I'm enjoying the experience - although in terms of fuel economy it's only marginally better than my 2005 Td5 Defender
As the D4 is heavier, more pwerful and an auto it just shows you how rubbish the td5 is

This is worryingly starting to sound like a DSL thread..That rear cover is looking rather excessive...next we are going to see a deer carcass dragged across the cream leather seats...
It's more chainsaws and forestry than deer. Sawdust gets everywhere. And I mean everywhere! Here's a typical load in one of my Disco Sports:
