I don’t fundamentally disagree with Al/LT, above, but many ‘normal’ people wear what they like, it’s a bit of an ‘easy pop’ at the Corbyn when he has more reprehensible ‘issues’ I’d rather he be taken to task for.
But, yes, I think he was being disrespectful, not necessarily on purpose but a bit of demonstrating a CBA attitude

DG- You’re missing the point. Local RBL members are not the Leader of HMMLO.
I’ve already said that, IMO, Cameron should have worn a black tie. But again that’s missing point, as this is about who Corbyn is, the Leader of HMMLO, not a comparison to has been leaders.
I think he should have worn a black tie, white shirt, dark suit and if it was cold enough to wear a coat it should bave been black.
It’s simply a mark of respect.
Corbyn didn’t need to wear expensive designer clothes, him or his aides could have obtained suitable attire from M&S or charity shops.2006 D3 HSE (Original & still the best)-GONE

What is the 'mark of respect' requisite for the Leader of HMMLO ...do you have the guidance document?

Should there be a need for a "guidance document" as to what to wear for a very formal event, held in front of the worlds media, for someone who has ambitions to become the next PM?
The very fact it has been noticed and debated here, by a MAINLY unfashionable middle aged bunch of blokes, as well as across all forms of media, shows his poor choice of attire. Again, all IMO. 2006 D3 HSE (Original & still the best)-GONE

Which, for the third time now, is IMO wrong. He should have worn a black tie.
Corbyn's attire shows a worrying lack of awareness by both himself and his advisers. It would have been so easy to have avoided all the negatives comments that his dress has attracted.
Of course to his fan boys he can do no harm, ever (much like Trump). So his attire makes no difference to his loyal fan base. Which speaks volumes.......
Corbyn last year:
Make of that what you will. Perhaps he thought he'd copy Cameron!2006 D3 HSE (Original & still the best)-GONE

The problem here is that you appear to want to make a bigger issue of one colour tie rather than the other ....the negative comments would no doubt overwhelmingly come from the hoity-toity types who dress up for ridiculous activities like shooting living things or to attend fundraising events where it is a right to feel young girls up ....this is a guy who lives in a council house and is seemingly revered as an individual by 5 times the membership of the tory party ...he might be called a terrorist sympathiser but would no doubt make a greater effort to prevent the murderous activity in Yemen by our friends the Saudis, to whom we provide the killing kit.
I dislike his politics but I will defend him in this regard and suggest to you that, given their outcome, he would have overwhelmingly represented the backgrounds of the fallen in far greater numbers than those who are concerned to criticise his every move.

Sorry DG, but you’re wrong. The fact that he looked shabby and wore no poppy was an affront to all of us who served and more importantly to my father in law (Malaysia), brorther in law (RM Falklands) and neighbour Jack (WW2 FEPOW). We took the King and the Queens shilling and signed the oath of allegiance. The colour of his tie was irrelevant. It’s how he portrayed himself. He managed it last year, why not this, the 100th year anniversary of a brutal war.
He showed more respect to terrorists than those that have served. We all found it offensive.D4 HSE EU6 (Known as Jeeves)

Wore no poppy?
What is the required size of a poppy, the pin badge size he wore or the giant over exaggerated size of others ?

Well give him his due, at least he sung the national anthem this time, something he's chosen not to do on several occasions, such as the BOB memorial service (see below). Truly a man of principles......

I'm bored of Jezza now, so my final words on the subject -I thought his attire showed a lack of respect for the occasion. I wasn't surprised and I expect he knew exactly what he was doing and that he's pleased with himself.2006 D3 HSE (Original & still the best)-GONE

Don’t knock Jezza’s attire, he’s just ahead of the fashion trends. When he gets in we’ll all be shopping in charity shops and looking like that.

Most of the people I shoot with grew up in council houses, my Father grew up in a Nissen hut, they all dress appropriately to “kill living things” Are you suggesting that people who grew up in council houses are thick and don’t have respect?DS3 TDV6 HSE - Silver with Alpaca (old one) Gone

All this vitriol over the size of a poppy and the fact peps don’t think the guys dressed appropriately.
Ive seen plenty of veterans dressed in old Parkas and Duffle Jackets parading the street as in every year. Are they showing disrespect?
Personally, live and let live. I knew personally of WW1 and WW2 veterans who were didn’t want their medals and were against Remembrance Sunday and the like. I doubt that had anything to do with disrespect. Public events help some, but not others, but we are so quick to judge.
