I really did not want to get re-involved with the Webasto, but I have just received an email from Webasto as an update.
The content was that they have installed a system in a brand new Discovery 3 and it worked, however a few days after the vehicle broke down and has been in the dealers ever since.
I think if we can find a car that does not break down, bearing in mind they have already used Neils D3 before mine and his broke down and was rejected and he since bought a RRS then mine died and now the present one has, the fix could be on the way.

Best not mess with the D3 then... let LR do their thing - I feel they have a tad more knowledge of their product than anyone else has.
The FBH works great... does what it was intended to do. Just the software was not modded before release and we all assume we should have a timer and remote option.

Remote control for the Webasto Independent heater |
|
I contacted landrover dealer Schaap in Lelystad, the Netherlands and they installed a webasto kit which they received from Webasto Netherlands (originally coming from Webasto Finland). The kit seems to work fine, only the price including installing is rather expensive (about 1000,-- euro).
Webasto Netherlands told me the main reason why the preheater in the disco doesn't function is interference with the alarm system.
To be continued 2005 Disco 3 TDV6 HSE in Ebony Gray

Just got a call from the local Webasto dealer and they're installing the kit to my TDV6 in two week's time. Good to hear it seems to work!! Disco 3 TDV6 SE Auto
