Removable Tow Bar

Hi - can someone pls confirm for me - the fitting under the rear bumper with the red plug in, is a standard item on a D3 - and this is what the removable towbar plugs into ???

Have looked on ebay and most removable towbars are about a third of the price than from the dealer...

Is there anything else that is required, with the exception of electrics ??

kind regards

Hi,
Yes, the red plug is where the removable tow bar goes in and no, you don't need anything else apart from the electrics Thumbs Up

Nope -nil else needed apart from the key -amazed me the first time I clipped the towbar in. Electrics -now that's a different matter but an entertaining afternoon to install.

IMHO I would not buy from the dealer @ £300. Ebay has some good ones that will not make over £180 if there is a few on there.

Hubby fitted our tow bar at the weekend took a couple of hours and jobs a good un, we was pre warned that it may need programming but we never had any error messages Mr. Green went to the van and checked all the electrics ok, all lights and the fridge work. 8) happy days.

The tow bar is just a huge chunk of metal with a lock, not much programming on that I'm affraid! Rolling with laughter Rolling with laughter

It's the electrics that need to be programmed which turn off the 'Off Road' height and also the rear parking bleepers. Thumbs Up
