Removable towbar locking pin

Would anybody who has a (working) removable towbar be able to tell me how far the locking pin protrudes, both when it's retracted, and when driven out by the spring?

Mine was fully seized onto the vehicle, and seeing as I've managed to get it off I'm giving it a bit of a birthday so it might come off again if I refit it. And would like to get the pin in the right place relative to the spur gear on the shaft.

The silver bit in the photograph. Very Happy

Ta, Joe.

Nice video here on stripping it down for a bit of reconditioning:

I don't have precise measurements (I didn't get a key with mine), but the video has some good shots of them working the mechanism that should act as a comparison.

Ha, wish I'd look for a video before taking it apart, I may have found that, and avoided the ball bearing in mine doing something similar! Laughing Thanks though, that is a good one.
