Removal of speaker cover on Dash

How easy is it to remove speaker cover on dash without breaking anything as i am trying to find the cause of a knock that appears to come from that direction.
Many thanks

...on the topic of rattles - and not trying to hijack the thread... Smile

I don't suppose you know how easy it is to remove the lower panel (front passenger door - there is a rattle on tickover that is really bugging me.

Regards
Les

Yes it does just clip off. Bit tight but defo no screws etc. Had mine off a few times, Pic in my gallery too.

Les996

2 long screws towards the bottom, another under the airbag badge and one under a small plate behind the door open handle, Then you need to remove the cover off the door pull, it has some holes underneath you are supposed to use to free the two upper barbs but i never used them, just pulled it up while wiggling it till the barbs unclipped.
There are 4 screws under that, then pull the panel towards you with some force as there are a lot of clips around the edge. Watch out for teh one at the top of the tweeter bit. You could help with a flat lever but as you are against the painted metal you want to be careful not to scratch it.

When the panel comes away the cable for teh door open can be releaded by unclipping the barb and allowing it to lever out. when putting back be sure the roller at the cable end engages in the slot for it, of course there are a few electrical plugs of which the door switch ones are quite tight.

hope this helps

Oh sorry Hobgoblin.
The centre speaker is part of the Logic 7 fourteen speaker set up.

I upgraded my own D3 from base Audio to Logic 7, hence i added the centre dash speaker.

If you want i will tell you all about it.
