Remove remap before servicing?

I'm sure I have read it somewhere but can't find it. Should I remove the remap (i.e. restore the old map) before bringing the car in for servicing? Have installed it with the iiDTool. Needs to go for the 7 year big one.

Probably wise to remove just in case. Especially if it's going to a main dealer.

You don't want your remap to be overwritten by a software update whilst the car is being serviced.

I always remover my BAS remap before the car goes to a LR dealer, and reapply it thereafter.

But you should have a copy of your BAS map so if it is overwritten you can just reload it.

A question for the gathered experts I have, is that a BAS map is based on the oem map of the time the BAS was created - so, what if the OEM map is updated with key coding changed - wont the BAS map be just changing it back to what it was before - so if the OEM map is updated shouldn't you have to get the BAS map updated too?

No the key coding is not stored in the same place as the engine operating maps.

ok, need some help now.

I have 4 firmwares showing in my update tool: seems to be on 3.00.00 build 2108 now, but there are 4 more:
3.00.00 build 2134 (release)
3.00.00 build 2193 (beta)
3.02.00 build 2183 (custom)
3.01.00 build 2184 (special)

I did read the manual (more than once) but can't figure out nor can I remember how I install the original flash file and, after the servicing, reinstall the remap.
