Removing center console trim/power sockets? |
|
Ok, have "used the search luke" with no luck.
Can anyone point me to details of how to remove bits of the centre console to remove that panel with the 12v outlets in it under the radio?
I am guessing as workshop details are online there are no workshop manuals to be had on ebay etc? Disco3 is now gone but not forgotten. Waiting for Disco6 with full aluminium construction weight reduction and hybrid engine...

I take it you've already pulled off the console surround? If not, get hold of the bottom corners of the console surround and give it a blooming good pull. You'll need to loosen the whole centre console and slide it back a cm or so to remove the smokers' pack/accessory sockets. I'll rummage aorund for the post with pictures on it. I know it's not considered "kind" to say no these days, but no. Just no, ok? And if it's not ok, still no.

Cheers NoDo$h!
Search seems to be a real hit and miss, sometimes I find things first time, others I never seem to find anything!
Want to add extra power sockets when I put in the second battery, hence need to remove console, will wait until I am ready I think so I can break it all in one go rather than two stages Disco3 is now gone but not forgotten. Waiting for Disco6 with full aluminium construction weight reduction and hybrid engine...

I only found it as I spent ages looking for the same info a couple of months back and remembered the search terms I know it's not considered "kind" to say no these days, but no. Just no, ok? And if it's not ok, still no.

I should have started with "broken clip" that might have done it! Disco3 is now gone but not forgotten. Waiting for Disco6 with full aluminium construction weight reduction and hybrid engine...

Search all depends on what you type in, it's not magic
It's also a LOT better than it was! 06 D3 SE / 15 LR D90 XS SW / 88 LR 90 Td5 / 68 BMW 2000 ti

Yeah Yeah
To be fair I did make a good effort, I find that it will often pick out one word though, I was looking for the part number of the LR Oval timer for the FBH the other day, and had to be really selective with what I used otherwise it would pull up all the other FBH posts.
I find that using the features like +term1 +term2 -notthisterm really helps
In this case though it seemed I was using the wrong choice of words, kudos to ND
EDIT: And of course it just goes to show everything you need is here on the site somewhere! Disco3 is now gone but not forgotten. Waiting for Disco6 with full aluminium construction weight reduction and hybrid engine...

That's how you're supposed to use it - click the "Show Keyword Help" link on the search page and it explains all!
There are over 300,000 posts, and at a guess there are thousands with "FBH" in them, so there's no surprise you've got to be specific 06 D3 SE / 15 LR D90 XS SW / 88 LR 90 Td5 / 68 BMW 2000 ti
