Removing the DPF from the ECU involves what? |
|
Can someone explain to me what removing the DPF from the ECU entails? Is it simply deleting the error code, or is it more complex? If so, what does it involve? I'm asking about the 2.7 TDv6 engine.

You need to get a download of the file from the PCM and get someone to map out the code for the DPF. Then re-upload the modified file.

Thank you, Flack. However, that's not what I'm asking about. I know what the procedure looks like. What I'm interested in are the specifics. What does the actual removal of the DPF involve? There are various methods to do this. Which method is used specifically for the 2.7 TDv6 in the Discovery 3? Is only the part responsible for the error removed, or are there any other more detailed modifications made?

I would also be interested in this. I assume it would be necessary to also halt e.g. the "active regeneration", ie the squirting of diesel into the exhaust system, wouldn't it?
