Removing a graze from clear rear lights |
|
Just noticed I've got a graze on my NS new clear rear lights
Some one/thing has got up a bit too close and personal
Can this be polished out or is there any other way of sorting ? I was a normal heterosexual chap, but in these new woke awakenings I now identify as a Wardrobe.

The acrylic material is relatively soft as moulded plastic goes..you have a few options:
1) metal polish will get most scratches out....Brasso, Duraglit...both work & you may already have this commodity
2) Megiuars have a specific plastic polish (Plast-X) (try Halfrauds) I have used this on plastic headlamps...works OK...you can also try their Scratch-X...it works on plasic
use all the liquid polishes with some terry towelling (to apply & polish off) & be very specific to the actual area of the scratch or blemish....just keep going & have some patience
Good Luck BREXIT - done properly.
Right now ...We need Government - not Politics
Save the Dipstick Flagbearer-keep it simple, less likely to fail campaign-agenda items:Starting Handles, Acetylene Lamps.
Founder: Dipsticks-R-Us Inc
D3 HSE-perfectly formed, passenger friendly...has real DIPSTICK
Jag XK-but sadly no DIPSTICK...HUGE design fault
FL2 has DIPSTICK..."real comfort in rear seats"
VW Golf wondermobile (?)..has real DIPSTICK
Morris Minor..original DIPSTICK technology..and a real KEY.

Hi Ron,
Just polished out scratches on my high level brake light (a collegue opened the door when I had 3mtr length of metal tray on the roof bars!) with acrylic polish generally used on caravan windows. I don't know if it works but may be a quick fix if you try a small area first.

Caravan shops do a tube of acrylic window scratch remover,I got a bit close to a thorny hedge last year with my tintent and did what I thought was irrepairable damage to my windows but you can't tell,I think it's probably only t-cut but it worked anyway

depending on how deep or how much elbow grease you prepared to exert you can speed the process up using wet'n'dry paper and then any of the above suggestions for a 'final polish'.
