Unusual wear pattern?
I would have expected fronts to wear out much more quickly than rears - any idea why?
NJSS
Yes was unusual .... And no idea why .
Noticed the rears quite low when had tyres changed .. But the fronts were a lot better( bigger disks maybee) G4 Gone ...but not forgotten

My D3 is mid 60's mileage....I am on my 3rd set of Pads & DISCS....
when the pads have been just before the light came on the discs have been to minimum thickness also....
Nothing really to do with the way I drive my auto..others I know have about the same...
as a comparison the:
VW Golf I have currently is at 56k miles & still on original discs / pads (3rd set of tyres all round)...still not reay to swap (= the lease company got do this anyway ....you have to get light on or have wrecked discs before they act (which is a load of )
The Golf before got to 58k before any work done to brakes
I use the slow down provided by releasing accelerator & changing down gears BREXIT - done properly.
Right now ...We need Government - not Politics
Save the Dipstick Flagbearer-keep it simple, less likely to fail campaign-agenda items:Starting Handles, Acetylene Lamps.

D3 HSE-perfectly formed, passenger friendly...has real DIPSTICK
Jag XK-but sadly no DIPSTICK...HUGE design fault
FL2 has DIPSTICK..."real comfort in rear seats"
VW Golf wondermobile (?)..has real DIPSTICK
Morris Minor..original DIPSTICK technology..and a real KEY.

Not worth taking any chances with brakes. Apart from the damage you do to discs if you leave them too long there's always the the possibility of them giving up at the precise point when the in the Volvo pull out in front of you. My front discs looked quite worn and the pad were on the limit. Changed at 63k miles and although the book is full of LR dealer service stamps (last one at 60k before I brought the car) they couldn't have looked to hard at the brakes

Fronts are bigger discs than on D3 ..think rears are same but could be wrong...D4 certainly stops better than D3 Cheers Ian
