United Kingdom 2005 Discovery 3 TDV6 HSE Auto Java BlackDiscovery 3

I did mine on my back on the drive. Didn't take long at all one evening, around about an hour. I joined just above exhaust heat shield.

The hardest but was flaring the old steel pipe as not only is it steel but it's bloody tough steel and in an awkward place.

United Kingdom 2007 Discovery 3 TDV6 XS Manual Tonga GreenDiscovery 3

I fixed mine the same, just under the heatshield. I bought 5mtr of ATE brake pipe and used this flaring tool from Sykes pickavant.

https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Sykes-Pickavant...:rk:3:pf:0

It copes with the steel pipe pretty good in a confined space.

For the rear axle pipes I got the brake kit from AF site sponsor which included flexi pipes.

I found all my pipes after 8 years were trashed. The rust had gone right through.

Just got back from the garage. It took them an age to find the pipe and then they said they couldn't do it. Back to the drawing board.

Thanks again for the help

No offence but if they took an age to find a brake line under the car I wouldn’t want them near mine anyway.

HaHa, totally agree

think I paid something like £60 to have both my rear pipes cut and spliced under the pass seat back,as already said though you need a decent flaring tool to be able to do the steel pipes other than being a bit awkward its not a big job just find the right person

don't know how old yours is but I also did the pipes on the rear lower arms (£8 eachish from l/r) and the flexi pipes and don't forget to get a few pipe clips as they break when you try to remove the pipes

That's good to know thanks
