£6500 for a few extra toys Confused If it was my money I'd rather keep what I've got, its been fixed if it goes again with in a year your covered and you've still go 6.5k in the bank and you like the car. If the new one goes still got to be fixed but your down 6.5K with the same stress and hassle you've just paid more money for. Were you think of PXing before the engine went if not don't worry what you could get for it now and just keep it.

The way things are headed with diesel cars it has to be the Euro6 model.

But a wise man might get rid of the current D4 and buy something cheaper and see how things lie in a year or two?

Is the current one an EU6? If so keep it with that warranty

Not sure anyone on here comes under the "wise man" tag........ Whistle Whistle

Personally, I would stick with what you have. Dragon Engines have a good reputation. 6.5k extra for a few extra toys and risk that the same could happen again, I would keep the cash in the pot.

We're asked all the time when we fit a reman engine; should I keep the car or get rid of it?

My answer is always the same; You have 12mths warranty, use it and then sell the car when it comes close the end of the warranty. If something happens during the warranty period, we replace the whole engine again, not try to fix what went wrong. It's no quibble with us.

Parting with the car just after fitting a reman engine and buying a new car with an original engine (whatever the mileage) is also a risk, unless you get a warranty that covers the whole engine.

I only had one D3 engine die on me, I didn’t keep my D4 long enough to see it’s engine pack up. Whistle Whistle

Agreed re issues, but I had the feeling lots of things were being stored up, felt like there was a storm on the horizon. I’m always wary when someone says their car has had no issues, I just mentally add “yet” in there. Whistle

No lusting after a Jazz, we already had two. Whistle Whistle Besides, my 12 year old Jazz is like a faithful old Golden Retriever, always happy to see you wagging its tail and always wanting to please. Plus a bit slow, bit round and always wanting a hug. Thumbs Up

It hasn't got 4 wheel drive, will tow nothing, only seats 4 at a push, no drop down tailgate, no oil burning heater to go wrong, no leather seats, no compressor and only does 60mpg, boring, what would we all do with our spare time and money we save?- probably buy another Jaz or go on an exotic joliday Whistle Rolling with laughter

My advice is to switch to a different brand as I have done......less issues to worry about !

Sorry to be cynical..........bitter taste and all that !
