I only had one keyfob with car so I purchased another new fob and took it to Timpsons. The Guy there was reluctant to cut it as I had not purchased the fob from them and he could not guarantee it would work. After telling him I would not be complaing if it didn't work and would take full responsibility, he cut it and charged me £10 which I paid in cash and told him I did not want a receipt. The car was parked close to the shop so I could try it out when it was cut. The new key worked perfectly in the lock and was programmed as "Key 2" and it's working fine.
I later bought another new fob and this time I had the blank cut by a guy on Ebay who can cut them from a good photo at a decent price. I emailed him a photo and was told "Yes, I can do it". Sent the blank by post and got it back virtually by return post. That key also worked fine in the lock, was programmed as "Key 3" and again, I have not had any problems and it's been about 4 years since being done.
Every now and then I use the "Spare" keyfobs to ensure that the internal battery is kept topped up.

are you making a new key or changing everything over as you can take the key off the old unit and put in your new one along with the battery and circuit board.
The tricky bit is setting up the spring so the key bit pops up.

The way I read it was that he bought a new fob complete with inner PCB and is looking to get the new blade cut. Obviously it will need programming to the car afterwards.
Otherwise if it's just the shell and blade that he has it just needs the inners and blade swapping=Plenty of info on You Tube if thats the case

TIP
I would remove the blade from the fob, it's easy to do and it can be cut without being attached to the fob.
Hold the blade at 90 deg. to the fob in a vice, you will see a small hole, in which a small hollow roll pin is hiding, tap the pin out using a small drill as a drift, slightly smaller than the hole or a small masonry nail ground down to fit if needs be. A standard nail or panel pin will probably bend or pass through the hole in the roll pin.
** The roll pin is very short and small be sure to catch it if it comes out otherwise it could be lost**
Some of the aftermarket blades are slightly wider/thicker than the original LR blades. If you go along the Ebay photo route tell them you will post your blade for cutting as their blades may be slightly larger and will need to be filed to fit into the fob but the key should still work.
Good Luck Thumbs Up
