replacement pulley for alternator
So my alternator failed in my 2016MY SDV6 LR4, or more precisely, the alternator’s OAD pulley disintegrated; ejecting its torsion spring into the auxiliary drive belt, shredding it into a spaghetti-like mess. Wish i'd been more cautious, more quickly, about the rattling noise, which probably indicated the bearings were failing.
I had no warning lights and no prior issues with the alternator up to this point. It’s the original 180 amp DENSO one (GH2210300AB). Off the top of my head, the car has about 130,000km on the clock. The belt was new, having only just been changed at the last service about 8 months ago.
Given the alarmingly high cost of a replacement OEM DENSO alternator (I believe the right part number for the 2016 sdv6 is LR077395) I’m curious to know if it’s feasible to replace just the pulley. You tube / forum searches indicate it should be in principle but I’m struggling to find the right replacement pulley as the part number on the existing one doesn’t lead me to any direct replacement. It has the 17mm hex fitting, the part number 600860B and CANADA. I think this equates to the manufacturer LITENS, but the trail goes dark in terms of a suitable replacement. Are the pulleys all standard size on the LR4 or vary by model year / engine?
So if anyone can help with links / suggestions to a suitable replacement pulley for this alternator and any tips for doing it, it would be highly appreciated!

As for your question... no idea. But I would go to a machine shop, if I didn't have 130,000 km on the generator. You have done well.
But I wonder, was the belt too tight?
In either event, I would inform customer service at Land Rover and Denso (concurrently) with this pic. That should never have happened.

Thanks for the feedback. Yes, having looked a bit further into expected lifespans on alternators, I think you have a point. Seems a bit daft throwing more money at this one if it's nearing its expected end of life anyway. Better to go for a new one. Just got to figure out which one.
The 180 amp OE Denso one (LR077395) seems to be over €1000 from the on-line suppliers I've found. Why so much more than the others?! Does anyone know if it is possible to fit the downrated 150 amp Denso DAN1105 model to the LR4 2016 SDV6 twin turbo? Denso's own online catelogue seems to imply it's ok?!
