I fitted 2.7 brakes to my 3.0 to be able to fit LT tyres that weren't oversize. If I didn't already have 8 17" rims (obtained for an intended D3 purchase) I would have used the PD1880/GOE 18" rims and accepted a reduction in anticipated tyre ruggedness. I did not want to stay with 19" rims if at all possible, yet wanted the 3.0. Home of LLAMS, for LRs and Jeep GCs
