How to reset service reminder on D3
Hi All,
I know this topic has been covered before, however, even after I have tried some the workaround provided in previous posts I am still unable to reset the service indicator for my D3 2007 model.
Aware this is to remind me that the car requires a service, however I am still 2K short of my next service.
I do not have an IIDTool and even though my mechanic would normally reset at service time I was looking at resetting this myself.
Any idea or suggestions?
Thanks,
Gab

There is no magical button pressing sequence, workaround or other mythical procedure that will shift that service reminder.
You'll be needing to buy yourself an IID tool I'm afraid. Mods:

Sorry, but I beg to differ... There is a magic button sequence...
I will find it a post it tomorrow.
I had to use it on my RRS and my D3 because my IID failed to reset the reminder for some reason.
I think it depends on the age of the vehicle doesn't it? I can reset some service reminders using a sequence. Mines a MY07. I think anything newer & it's not possible using this method if i remember correctly.
The caveat to this post is I have been on the farm gate cider all night, so my recollections could be somewhat blurred

I have a 2007 d3 and a late 2008 rrs and it works on both of those. I dont know about others.
To do it, I have to hold the trio reset button while I turn the ignition on. Keep holding the button until you vet something like RESET on the display.
Then hold the button again until it shows oil or date, release the button, and the hold the button in again.
It is something like that, but I cannot check because you can only do it when it needs doing, so I cannot check.

Hi Gab,
Let me know how you get on, if it didn't work I'll come over with my IIDTool. Full diagnostics include resetting the service indicator so it should work on your car too.

Thank you all your valuable input and insights. I have tried some of these steps to no avail but no doubt this may be due to 'operator error'.
My friend Ron aka IndusD4 has helped me using his IIDTool
Kind Regards,
Gab

No operator error, they simply don't work.
I think they may have worked on other, often older model LR vehicles some time in the dim and distant past but the L319 is a different beastie.Mods:

I think there was a regulation passed which forced the manufacturers to have a way that anyone can reset the service indicator, it may have come into effect with the 'Block Exemption Regulations' in 2010 which says you don't need to go to the dealer for a service to maintain your warranty status (just a VAT registered garage)
So it probably won't work on any car made before then, it certainly doesn't on my 2005
