reseting central locking!

Can anyone help?

I've got the auto lock switched on, which locks all the doors over a certain speed etc, but when i switch the engine off and remove the keys it only unlocks the drivers side front and rear door, leaving the passenger side front and rear door locked.

Is this right or wrong?

Regards

Lee

Thats correct. If you have access to the settings menu, I think there is a setting in there to disable the double unlock procedure.

Thanks for the reply,
but surely it's supposed to unlock all the doors when you take the keys out, not just 2 of them, my D2 did!

AFAIR you can only set / unset Autolock in the settings menu. The drivers or all door unlock ( on 1 press ) is only accessed by dealers. If you have 'one press driver door only option' when you take out the key the car remembers whether you opened the drivers or all ( I think ) and does the corresponding action

No this is only unlocking the front and rear door on the drivers side when you take the key out, and it make no difference if i've unlocked just the driver or all doors on entry.
Hope it still unlocks all the doors if it's involved in a collision, wouldn't want any rear passengers trapped etc! Shocked

Think it'll have to go to stealer to be looked at!

cheers for the replies lads.

I think this is normal - the rear doors don't automatically unlock with the key out. However they open from the outside, if they are unlocked manually from the door switch or using the central locking. So it is not like a child lock - the occupants can still get out simply by unlocking the door

Wrong

On mine all doors unlock when you remove the key .

If i have engine running , the back doors cannot be opened from inside unless i press the ulock button on the dash.

Irrospective of wether you have the key fob set to open one door or all ...2 door on the same side is incorrect.

You can open the rear doors from the inside on mine when they are locked.

You just need to pull the lock tab on the door out first to unlock and re-activate the handle it then pull the handle as normal. A bit like a half a child lock in some ways.

I recall that the manual said something like:

Single-point entry
This is a personal security feature, which
enables only the driver's door to be unlocked,
leaving the other doors in a locked state.
Single-point entry can be disabled on individual
handset keys by pressing and holding the lock
and unlock buttons together for three seconds.
Repeating the procedure will re-enable the
feature.
Each time single-point entry is turned on or off,
the vehicle will lock then unlock into the
selected mode (all doors unlocked or just
driver’s door unlocked).

Nikolaus

P.S.: I had a lot of time to read the manual while waiting for customs clearing when importing my Disco from Switzerland...

Lee, what you're saying make sense to me Thumbs Up Yes, you have a problem Sad

If you only unlock the drivers door on entry only the drivers door should unlock when you stop the engine
If you unlock all 4 doors on entry all 4 doors should unlock when you stop the engine
One front and one rear unlocking doesn't fit with either of the above so looks like you've got a trip to the dealer soon, though you could try disconnecting the battery for 10mins or so, has been known to resolve some other weird issues

Thanks wiggs and slimer,
I thought i was going mad with the locking issue and it was hard to explain what was actually happening, i thought it was wrong and glad you agree with me.

Any issues i need to be aware off when disconnecting and re-connecting the battery??? as it's always worth a try before going to the dealer, especially when it's only a little thing like this Big Cry

Thanks again guys Very Happy
