Thanks m

they said they had checked the inlet manifolds and all ok? but they can hear a slight hissing noise from around the turbo inlet pipe but might need body of to sort so i decided to get the car back to have a look myself as it seemed a bit extreme, i was thinking of trying to smoke test it to see but need to sort a way of doing it ?

codes were • P1247-00 (64) Turbocharger boost pressure low

Smoke test is you're best option. Thumbs Up .

Who looked at it? I would have thought they would have carried out a smoke test.

Mine (also MY2012) went in for restricted performance, they spent 3 weeks replacing pipes and O rings only to discovered it was in fact the intake manifold, that was last June, then this June the other side went. I would say it's highly likely that the manifold is split.

Takeoff the cover and have a look around, if there is any oil residue then I would say you're looking at the manifold.

Have you had the faults read? I would guess its a differential in the manifold pressures. which should help you be certain which side it is.

I wouldn't want my body off unless absolutely necessary..

Just saw that you're in Derby..

So now even more curious who has 'diagnosed' it for you. As the dealer in Derby is cr4p and so are a couple of the Indys around Derbyshire too (IMHO)..
I have a GAP IID BT

I'm in Ashbourne and id be happy read your codes and have a look at the manifold if you can get to me.

Or I can let you know if I'm in Derby over the weekend?

Thumbs Up

Hi Browny90,

i do have the gap ii tool but my problem is i can read the faults but dont really understand what they mean to some degree so i thought if i took in into a so called specialist they would know more ! , i did ask about doing a smoke test but they said there machine wasn't working , to be honest ive tried a couple of indy garages in derby and not found them very good at all ,they seem to not to be able diagnose properly who they want the easy jobs where its a quick part change and bill .

thanks for your offer tho very kind
