Checked the inter cooler hose and all good. I did check the sensor and it’s very dirty, hopefully spray will come tomorrow.
Thanks
Thanks for all the info so far!

Also, what is described above as the airbox can become detached - or partially displaced - from the throttle body. It's worth checking.

So spray arrived! All clean, drive home on motorway all went well until after 2 hours the signal came up again! Switched the engine off at the tunnel and sign is gone again! I’m confused, could it be a faulty sensor? Shall I switch them around to check this?
Thanks

You have an air leak plain and simple. You need to find it. P006A is the error you get when the MAF is seeing a certain flow of air and the MAP sensor is not seeing the corresponding boost because the air is leaking somewhere. If none of this means anything, take it somewhere and get them to find the leak for you.
Check the throttle body -prone to splitting at the Y junction.
Check BOTH manifolds.
Check the intercooler hoses.
Check the intercooler itself.
As has been said already, you need someone to do a smoke test to find the leak.

Hi
thank you for the reply, today I drove without any issue for 2 hours however not on the motorway...I'm confused to if it is intermittent we don't see this all the time?

because it required the vehicle to see a leakage. If you are cruising and not using boost then you are likely not losing much pressure and thus you don't trigger the issue. Typically people see it when they either use the car hard or they go up steep hills, or are towing. Anything that causes the vehicle to be in a heavy load situation normally shows it up.
Sometime it can be the MAF sensor that can cause the issue. (it's misreading), but less common than a leak. This is harder to diagnose and typically I'd rule out all leaks via a smoke test before trying the MAF as the cause.

Do have a look at Desb's post "Reduced Performance when towing caravan" if you haven't already.

My 11year old d4. Had the orange warning light come reduced performance. Come on quite regularly, found out from a friend who had similar warning lights on his Peugeot van re timing that the solution was to press the starter button but not the brake, this allowed the electronics to fire up,wait 5seconds then press brake pedal and start engine,so far after 3 months problem has gone away,no more warnings.

Good evening.
Why do these things happen on Friday evening???
Have the Restricted Performance / Red Triangle pop up when I started the engine to head home from work this evening. Had a quick look in the dark but no obvious pipe split, will look for the mist in the morning. After a few times of starting it again when I got home to see if it clears (which it didn't), the check engine light has now also come on - is that usual. I could not find much on the search re CEL with restricted performance.
I need to use it for a few mixed journeys tomorrow, am I ok to tip along gently until I can get it checked next week? Happened just in time for my wife to be heading away with the other car for the week with her work - typical timing.
Would be grateful for any tips re CEL. Thanks in advance
