Having personally done this I cannot fathom how they did it in three hours, but kudos to them. Superhuman effort but I guess when you've done enough of them, you can rein in the hours. Mine took about 12 hours and I think it's factory allocated around 8 hours.
There's a lot of work between coolant systems, egr, timing cover, injectors, etc. Anyhow, happy days!

restricted performance

Had this happen to me 2 days ago 2015, 73K mileage. i had been parked up, so this happened from start up, red triangle, no power.

shutdown reset the issue, done 200 miles since no issues since, in all types of load conditions.

the IID code where for turbo actuation, so it may have stuck on startup. but ill keep an eye on it.

Looking at the forums, it seems to be a common issue

my initial diagnostic said turbo actuator & MAF

It was the smoke test that revealed the split manifold

I too am impressed that they changed the manifold in that time Shocked

I had restricted performance due to a split manifold and had both replaced (was advised that if one goes the other will probably also go) and the prices were £225 per manifold and £600 labour to fit both.

Minemapper - may ask what your costs were as I am now wondering if I paid too much Big Cry

costs

I am interested in the costs too.

Be interesting to see if mine comes back again, or perhaps it was a one of Laughing

My Local Specialist charges £72 per hour inc Vat, but they are pretty good.

I just asked them for a quote and it was £1128 inc vat to replace one manifold !!!!!

I spoke to those guys near Leek you mention, and your right they want £600 inc vat !! madness how the prices vary, they are only an hour away from me so perfect if i need anything doing.

Cheers
Mark

Sorry, just saw this.

My cost was £700 for the first side, and while in there they confirmed the second one was on it's way out too (hairline surface cracks) and gave £100 off that side if I did it then. So £1300 total for both manifolds, which took them two full days of labour.

My D4 went in last Thursday to have the RH one changed, they rang on Friday to say sorry it won't be back until Monday as they'd ordered he wrong rocker cover. Cost wise RH Manifold £239.96 and 8 hours labour at £55ph. Total plus VAT £815.95. They quoted £163 for the LH one with 10 hours labour so a total of £855. I'll change it as and when/if it needs doing, as there was no saving having then both done at the same time.
