Restricted performance
The wife’s D4 (125k miles) gets the message Restricted Performance popping up when she goes over 50mph.
I’ve read the fault codes and I get these two:
Any ideas what this means?
I’ve also had a rear door not unlocking and got this code:
The keyless entry motor still works, and the door locks, but you need to use keyless entry through the door in question to access.

Is it something I can fix myself, or a bit of a ballache?

Can also be as simple as a split intercooler hose or popped off the fitting a little.

Did you get to the bottom of this one? I have the same issue with passenger rear door. No fault code showing but the door only opens if I use keyless entry on that door... otherwise it sticks.
Locks no problem.
i also had the restricted performance issue recently, smoke tests and pressure tests came back fine. Codes kept coming up, usually when under load on an incline etc... sometimes weeks / months between it coming up, then increased in frequency until I was pulling over every couple of miles to clear the code to continue.
Eventually found a split drivers side manifold... crack must have been extremely fine initially and only pulled the fault when engine hot and under certain loads causing it to flex etc.
Manifold now replaced and all is well... apart from the rear door issue and a drivers mirror not folding every time I lock up... intermittent again. Many Thanks

It was a cracked driver side manifold. Jonathan at Greyhill showed me the cracked one. He said LR are continually updating the part. Car still drove but I think once it starts to crack, it just opens up more and more until engine becomes very weak. He says the other side (near side) cover has been replaced before so that’s good to hear.
Whilst they were at it they did the timing belt too - it was only another hour of Labour to do, so a bit of a no brainer, I also got them to order in a replacement door latch mechanism (LR091351 for the keyless L H rear), which I decided to have a go at fitting myself as they wanted another £200 Labour to do. I’ll post some videos below on how to do it. You can buy aftermarket ones, you can even take the plastic box apart and replace just the motor, but I just got the replacement genuine LR part.
All codes cleared and running great again. 👍🏻

Here are some photos,
Spongy stuff around the latch bolts
Iain Taylor has an eBay shop where he sells the actuators for £20 if you want to do it on the cheap. My reasoning is that if one motor has failed, the item is probably life expired. Life’s too short to be doing these things twice. See link below.
