Restricted Performance Issue - P22D3-77 (27) & P22CF-71 (26)

Hi all,

I'm hoping for a bit of advice.

I own a 2013 D4 SDV6 (145k miles) that I'm looking to sell. It has been throwing up a restricted performance warning above 3000rpm (worse when cold, less frequent when warm?). I've read the codes and they are coming up as

P22D3-77 (27) - Turbocharger turbine inlet valve stuck closed - Mechanical failure - Command position is not reachable.

P22CF-71 (26) - Turbocharger turbine inlet valve control circuit - Open - Mechanical failure - Actuator is stuck.

Initially I inspected the vacuum hoses and noticed some above the throttle body were worn and so suspected a vacuum leak. I booked it in with my local indy who vacuum checked everything and couldn't find any issues. They advised a new secondary turbo actuator as they are known to stick on start-up.

Took the car back to the garage on Monday who fitted a new secondary turbo actuator. I've just picked the car up and, £800 lighter, it's still tripping the restricted performance Big Cry

They've advised I speak to a main dealer who may be able to plug their latest software into the car and get further and guessed it could be an electrical problem??

Has anyone had a similar experience or any advice on what to do next? I'm looking to sell the car so spending another £2k on 'investigating' isn't really an option as, because of the mileage, it would make more sense to take it to webuyanycar and just take the hit.

Any pointers gratefully received!

Had same issue with identical faultcodes on my d4 2015 at 150k.

Actuator of secondary turbo was not moving smoothly any more.

After „extracting“ it via removing right front tire (german driverleftsideversion - don‘t know if this makes a difference) and leaving turbo in situ, the actuator got a hot bath in an ultrasonic cleaner for at least 2 hours. Gave it little WD40 and reassembled it.

No errors any more, full power. Very Happy

Hallo jazzdog,
