Retire today.......

After 40 years and six months working for Rover, BMW, Aston Martin, bit of a foray into China and finally 'back' to JLR, today is my last day of walking the treadmill.

Was always planning that I would retire at 60 but with the headcount reduction taking place at JLR I did the sums and the pay-off I get will cover me for the next three years to bridge that gap without having to work if I don't want to.

I'm sat waiting for my exit meeting, all files downloaded, phone, laptop, iPad all cleared and a brief 'out of office' added to my email account and I'm done. Been all round my sites this last week or so and thats it...... I'm done.

Looking forward to my next chapter in life Thumbs Up

Enjoy Thumbs Up

no, that is the joy of retiring from JLR with necessary service and age; I get to keep both my company cars as per the management car scheme. I'm only keeping one of them (as SWMBO and myself like to keep a cabrio' in the stable so we have an Audi A3 cabrio' now for that use) so currently have what was SWMBO's Evoque on the drive as our 'main car' now with a Defender to replace that whenever it turns up Rolling Eyes

My RRS went back yesterday ( Big Cry ) and picking up another Evoque next month to replace that but my brother will be taking that on and paying me the cost to cover it.

Don't need to touch my pensions till I'm 60 at least as it stands and currently have a 'little part-time job' lined up moving cars around the country but having a few months off first Thumbs Up
