United Kingdom 2012 Discovery 4 3.0 SDV6 HSE Auto Santorini BlackDiscovery 4

Found one on eBay out of a D4, for 90 pounds on Sunday. Delivered today and I fitted it. Done. Really pleased with it. I have never done anything like this before, so I am quite pleased with myself. Next on my list is remote park heating. I already have timed climate, so I think I need to check if there is a control module or if I need to source one.

Thanks for your help!

Marcus

I've recently had the Remote side of the FBH fitted by BODSY (Site Sponsor). A completely hassle free, 20 minute install, (in Whitchurch train station car park) as it was half way between me, in Chester, and him...in...Shropshire...

Contact him via PM.

Great service, nice guy too! Very Happy

Fitting the cubby fridge in a my16

Nick H wrote:
Fitted mine last night, took about 25 minutes.

2010 HSE

1. Took out the cup holder and undid the 2 screws inside which hold down the centre console
2. Lifted up the plastic trim at the front of the cubby box - just pulls upwards
3. Grasped centre console on both sides by cup holders and lifted up gently
4. Undid the two T20 torx bits at either side on the front of the cubby box previously hidden by the centre console
5. Undid the two T40 torx bits either side of the top cover
6. Lifted gently the two silver trim pieces on the top cover hinges
7. Lifted up the top cover from the hinges and loosened the USB lead grommet
8. Whilst lifting the centre console slightly, removed the cubby box which needs a gentle but forceful lift upwards as it is located on trim clips at the base
9. Inserted cubby fridge checking for wires not being squashed and put USB grommet in place
10. Pushed cubby fridge downwards into place
11. Connected cubby fridge lead checking for any fouling
12. Started car to check for correct operation and no power issues
13. Started from point 7 and worked backwards

Thumbs Up

About to fit one to my my16 landmark - any changes to the fitting method from the one above?

Thanks in advance

Obviously no one on here has done it so had a look at fitting but it doesn't look the same as the 2010 instructions - can't get the centre console to lift - so not going to break anything I'll put everything back together and it can be a job for the dealer me thinks

Sorry to bring up an old thread.

I have just fitted the cubby fridge in my 2016 D4 Graphite.

This is the item I purchased https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/-/183357705963?...675.l10137

Fitted in minutes while eating my lunch at motorway services and all works fine cooling nicely while driving from Sussex to Manchester this afternoon.

Just one question, I see that some people say the box stays on until battery level drops to a certain level and will then turn off automatically before a completely flat battery. Mine turns off as soon as the ignition turns off. Is there anyway to alter the behaviour. I do have a BT IID tool if its in there somewhere.

On a D3 it stays on. On a D4 it switches off.

The only way to change it is sell the D4 and buy a D3 instead. Rolling with laughter Thumbs Up

Shocked That was a quick reply, thanks.
Not the reply I was hoping for though Rolling with laughter

No tricks / hacks to change this on the D4 then? Not even a way to make permanently live (Accept there is the risk of flat battery)

Thanks to everyone who posted hints and tips and instructions here. I've just fitted a D3 cubby cooler to my D4 2012 XS. It is straightforward as long as you don't mind pulling harder on some bits than you feel comfortable with. It took maybe 20 mins altogether. Nothing too technical.

D2 Td5 ES (Alive remapped...mmm) - sadly gone
