I’ve just fitted the D3 sat nav out of a HSE.
I’ve got the fakra lead and camera leads in and a camera to try.
Don’t fancy changing it yet.
Is a 2010 RRS screen the same as a D4 screen.

If you use the search button you will find out that you need a additional unit to connect on a D3 screen..
Imho it makes no sence to repeat here again what is allready extensively covered before here on this forum Look for GVIF
D4 screens, the early ones (2010) indeed rss included) do not need such a unit and are therefore a popular and easy upgrade

Reversing cam
Hi R1 wilky,
You can if you want view the camera on your D3 screen via the hidden menu, it`s what I do when needed and is ideal for working on sites pulling multiple trailers.

Hi,
To access the hidden menu/ screen you press the at the top centre of the home screen display for around 6 seconds then press the left hand hard button for 3 seconds and a key pad will come up, press 753 and the menu will show. Then you can select video and view your camera once it`s plugged in.

I didn’t think it worked like that.
That way you can add 4x4 and other features.

Hi,
Sadly the hidden menu does not give you the 4x4 screen, to get that you ether need to cut a wire so it thinks it`s a Range Rover ( loads of info here on how to do that) or get the software updated.
The menu does give you the video inputs and a host of other information.

note there are 2 typres of camera. And you need the correct one!

ive been on the hidden screen and you cant change ant settings.
on the screen it asks pal or ntsc so i guess its just swap between them.
also am i best off having software updated before i cut wire 4 and add a switch.

not sure what S/w update you a talking of.
The pal or ntsc switch is only available while in the hidden menu, and is not remembered.
If you want automatic operation, when reverse is selected, you need the correct camera

Cut wire 4 on the screen got rrs display.
Thing is sat nav not working.
Is this normal.
And should the info work.
Ie fuel display temp fuel remaining.
