Reversing camera

Hi, my 2005 SE auto has a reversing camera fitted by the previous owner(s) This works by accessing the secret menu. I've tested it and it works fine.

I've read on the forum (I think) that the camera can be enabled to come on automatically when i select reverse by making a mod in the ccf file ?

Is this correct ? At the moment I have to manually enter the secret menu every time I want to use it.

I have a GAP iid tool.

Thanks

it can indeed but you need convert the screen to work in Range Rover mode to get the camera
work automatically (Plus ccf enable)

Hi, thanks for the reply.

OK, so that's what I was reading but didn't quite understand. Converting the display to RR mode ? is that the mod involving cutting a wire from the connector somewhere ?

When you cut this wire, does than automatically put it in RR mode ? or is it in conjunction with a ccf edit, and that edit also enables the auto reversing camera ? Sorry to ask so many questions, but when you read the threads, they jump around quite a bit and it can be sometimes difficult to follow or at least make a step by step procedure.

Yes that’s the one
Cutting wire will put it in RR mode ( still no camera) than ccf edit will turn the camera on
( but to get 100% out of it you will need outer light sensor to get the right brightness)

The better mod these days if you can spare £100 and have an iid and good at DIY is to fit a D4 display with its upgraded navigation system.

See other threads posted today about this(go to end)

Hi yes I saw the D4 modification, does the reversing camera work with that though ? Do I need to put the D4 device in Range Rover mode and do the ccf edit ?

Thanks

No Range Rover mod required.
No brightness mod required as it’s stuck at maximum. You can turn it off though manually at night.

You need an iid though to do a ccf edit for reverse cam to work
