Ride Quality Issues

Hi,
Just wondering what are the best things to address when diagnosing ride quality issues. The ride seems quite harsh for the car and I feel just about every dump and variation in the road surface, and I'm sure these are cars are supposed to be better than this. On a smooth road the ride is fine and I don't have any handling issues. MY59 D4, recent MOT and service didn't highlight any queries, and I don't think the issue is any more related to the front than the rear, both seem and feel just the same when driving over dumpss etc..

Any ideas?

What tyre size and tyres are fitted? Have you compared to another similar model?

Having gone from a D3 with 19"s to a D4 with 20"s - The ride in the D3 just seemed to absorb everything but the worst of the bumps - would agree that the ride is a tad harsher in a D4 and simply put it down to tyres.
 Last of the D4 HSE...

Mileage dependant, you could be heading for new bushes/arms but as has already been said, ride on 20's leaves much to be desired, to the extent that I sold a set of 20's and replaced with 18's with fat rubber.

Massive improvement in ride quality

You think you have ride issues Shocked

 The happiest of people don't necessarily have the best of everything;
They just make the best of everything they have.

Thanks guys. I have stock 19" wheels with Michelin Latitude Tour tyres.
Could there be better tyres?
I had all the front bushes and arms done not too long ago, so don't think it's that.
I must admit, my only other experience is the D3 so perhaps it's just a firmer ride. Others say it's no different from any other car but surely it should be much better...
Hey yo. I'll drive another D4 I guess and see what that's like.
