Rigid Dually D2s
Finally got round yesterday and today to start installing the DuallyD2s - 2 sets
copied Russell's idea of a bracket - but with 4 mounts not two.
Now I know my welding isnt quite upto RLD standards. After all, i did in sitting on the floor , whereas RLD would do it in situ travelling at 90mph down the M6, but a bit of a rub down and some paint and it'll look fine. its not going to come off, thats the main thing!!
so made a bracket : (its looks all bent but thas just the photo for some reason )

then bolted it to the front of the carsh frame. I thought it would be a bit wobbly, but when all bolted up its rock solid
bolted through this rectangular hole by shamelessly copying Russell's idea

attached light mounts. I was a little concerned about have four prongs protruding fromt the front of the car, but once they were cut to size they seemed OK and set back enough.

then mounted the lights but need to space them out evenly. They are not to everyones taste as they are a bit yellow.

However, the objective is to have bright lights and not something that just looks blingy - and boy are they bright.
Meet the Bad Boys !!!

as you can see I havnt wired them up yet - if anyone knows where I can get a feed from main beam please tell.
I cant find an M/B fuse and the wires going into the back of the light all seem to be live and none change voltage when m/b is switched on !!Duncan

I would be tempted to take a feed direct from the battery via a relay triggered by your front fog lights. This way you don't have an extra switch to install in the cabin.Club Exped trailer

Very interested to understand how much these add to Xenon main beams. What focus beams do you have on those pairs?
Cheers

no yet, called into see dealer and they printed the wiring diagram - said somehting about "FeZ" ??? wiring, if thats how you spell it.
they havnt had any one ask for spots on the ne D4 yet !!!.
they are going to take a look at the wiring diagrams for me and see what needs to be done -but just taking a feed off the main beam circuit isnt going to work - something about resistance and lots of other stuff I didnt understand !!
they suggested may be switch the driving lights relay around and switch the earth - but they will look at it over the next few days and get back to me.Duncan
