Yep it is possible to pay silly money for backprobes, but the Hantek ones are as good as any.

Well guys, I still have no joy with the WTT software.

The laptop says 'ready' bottom left but it scrolls through all the available burners and eventually tells me COM 3 cannot connect.

Any pointers?

I suggest you uninstall the webasto software, restart, install from the latest Webasto software ( pm me your email and I will send the file thru wetransfer.com, this one has all relevant drivers), after install, hook up only (!) the KKL USB cable, let windows look for and install the drivers, and once finished, hook it up to the FBH. And make sure you have the probes in well.

Didn't work last night but back inside I got the Computer to recognise the USB KKL lead so maybe this evening it will work.

Minus 5 coming off the hill this morning so it might have been nice to have it working Wink

The latest version of the WTT Software Job provided says it's compatible with USB - just run Version 3.

I'll try again tonight Whistle

I can get mine to connect 100% of the time:

1. unplugthe webasto plug with the can bus, wbus etc. Make connection to wbus on that plug (not the heater)
2. Start web as to diagnostics
3. Plug back into heater

Bow down Bow down Bow down in the directions of this forum, Robbie, discostic et al who have contributed vast amounts of FBH input, as a result of which, my FBH is now working as it should! Downloaded Webasto software, purchased connective bits and bobs, plugged in, added brake cleaner with gay abandon, smoked out Herts and part of Beds, and ended with full burn, no smoke, 85'C coolant temp, and a broad grin!

It did take several failed burns and partials, but got there in the end. Now off to Maplin to buy fob and receiver to add to Webasto timer and wire it all in!

Thanks to all sources of info and inspiration on this one, guys. If anyone local (AL3) is in the same boat as I was and wants to take advantage of my set-up, feel free to pm me. I also have full w/shop facilities inc 3.5t ramp, and a recently retired LandRover Mechanic who does a bit of casual work in there!

Regards,

Pete

I'm still not getting connected. Device Manager says there is a Code 31 problem.

The WTT Software reports that it can't find a USB connection.

Any suggestions folks?

Code 31 points to a driver error, more than likely the USB. You may have to track down a specific driver for your USB device which can be a bit of a pain.

Sydney,

The KKL unit came with a mini disc with Drivers. They seemed to load OK but Device Manager still says Code 31 and on other attempts the install reports 'this may not have installed properly'.

I just wish it would all work on my Mac - that usually just does it without any problems.

Winter will be over soon.... Whistle
