Roof Bars

Firstly hello to everybody, I am new to this site, and very impressed a quick look around has already answered some of my questions.
I am posting this in the hope that somebody can help me. I have recently bought a set of Roof Bars (from one of our members) but need a copy of the fitting instructions, (a scanned copy that could be emailed would do). Thanks Rob

Do you mean rails that are fixed to the car or the bars that go between them? I suspect the former, but I'm sure someone will point you in the right direction, there is a LR website for fitting a lot of accessories.

Hi, I already have the ones fitted to the vehicle, I mean the detachable ones that run across the roof. Rob

Hi Rob, welcome to the site.

Fitting instructions for accessories are available on the Owner Info site, you have to register but it's free

Rob, very straight forward to fit. Basically you open the side bracket (the piece with the key) then they just slot in to the rails, move them along to your chosen position and they are then "locked" in place by closing the side bracket and locking it. I confess that the fit feels very flimsy indeed and I would be very worried if I was putting heavy objects on the rack (like 4 kayaks).

I can't get the document windows to pop up when you select an instruction sheet to view. The "progress bar" at the bottom of my browser shows that something has loaded, but nothing changes on screen.
I use IE6. Has anyone elese experienced this?

Turn off any pop-up blockers that you've got running

But why do LR have to make getting the info "over complicated". Most other suppliers who want you to get at the info / manuals etc just have it as downloadables Confused
