Roof mount dvd install help

Will be installing a roof mounted dvd unit in the next few days. I want to connect the sound output to the cars audio system, maybe the aux input. How easy is it to do from there?

If you want the sound through the speakers you will have to run a lead to the headunit.
I left mine out, looks a mare to fit Big Cry

DVD installed

Got the dvd player fitted over the weekend. It took less than an hour & fittted basically the same way as described in zagonda's thread http://www.disco3.co.uk/forum/topic32721.html

So what's it like. Costing a reasonable £159 delivered, it won't win any design awards but its not at all bad. The plastics used is definately more Asda than Harrods & build quality is adequate, lets just say you get what you pay for. The only thing I'm worried about is how the hinge/swivel mech will stand up to prolonged use.

The 9" screen is fine, nice & bright with good colour saturation. Viewing angles are also good. It's region free & plays a whole heap of video formats off vcd & dvd, but it also has a usb & sd card input where you can load them full of downloaded films, tv programs, etc. Not had a chance to test this yet though.

I decided not to connect the sound to the the cars audio as like you say zagonda, it seemd to be too much hassle. Anyway the sound can be output through the units built in FM modulator, IR headphones & it also has its own built in speakers which go very loud but sound a bit definately not hifi quality.

One thing I don't like is the built in lights don't come on when the doors are opened. I looked in the manual & it doesn't semm to be a feature of the system. The lights are activated by the switch on the main unit & they auto switch off with the cars lights but strangely don't come on. Is there anyway to make them work?

The subtitle says "A few pics" but I don't see any. Is it just me?

Oh dear got a few rattles from inside the roof lining. I'm pretty sure its from the trailing wires & plugs rattling against the headlining. Need to open it up when I have the time & wrap the wires & plugs with some foam sheet.

Good job Thumbs Up not sure about the lights, if it's not a feature on your player i'm not sure how you get round that prob ? On the rosen there are 2 dedicated wires for the job.
