Does anyone have any info on the monitors that were fitted to the roof lining of D3's? What were the official one's LR were selling? I've got a D4 and a local ICE shop said that one of the only options was to go for a roof monitor for the kids to watch DVD's as the new headrests are too narrow for screens.
Any help gladly appreciated. If in doot, flat oot!!

Seeing as LR do a ICE install for the D4 as an option with headrest monitors it might be worth contacting TLO to see if he can get hold of them, the original LR roof mounted monitors were rosen units I believe that every human has a finite number of heart-beats. I don't intend to waste any of mine running around doing exercises.

Rosen.... that's what he said.
Perhaps the HSE has slightly wider front headrests to fit the screens.
Those Rosen units..... did they have a kit that included the lights, and is that where they are placed, just behind the alarm system? If in doot, flat oot!!

If you do a search on here, there are a number of threads on how to install them in a D3, and what bits you need to do it properly.
Search for
+rosen +install
or
+rosen +roof
Ps - as far as the headrests s concerned, give TLO a call for chapter and verse on what the score is with them re size/fitting. I believe that every human has a finite number of heart-beats. I don't intend to waste any of mine running around doing exercises.

I just picked up my 56 HSE D3 yesterday & it's got a 10" rosen LR fit screen in the roof just in front of the middle row & the IR headsets to go with. Works a treat.

If you want headrest DVD players then you should look at the Rosen AV7500 system. That comes with replacement headrests specifically designed to fit the car. I have this fitted in my D3 and the headrests are an EXACT match in terms of colour and grain. They are slightly wider than the standard headrest. I purchased mine on-line and had them fitted by 10forCash. If you do a Google search you will find some photos of D3 installs. In pre-09 cars i.e. those with grabhandles, the grabhandles need trimming to as there is no hole on the rosen headrests.

If its headrest monitors you want, i would start with a phone call to TLO, as he was doing a blinding deal on headrest monitors a few weeks ago, may still be able to sort you out with a set.

Hi
Just found this on avforums whilst looking googling the Rosen AV7500 - I take no responsibility if it F**** up the player! Good luck. I hope it works OK.
--------------------------------------------------------------
if you are lucky enough to own a Rosen AV7500 Dual-Headset in-Car DVD system, here is the hack to make it Region-Free!
1) With NO disc in the DVD Drive
2) On remote control press:
EJECT-ENTER-0-1-6-7 (Do not use EJECT on the unit itself)
A Region Prompt appears on top-right of screen.
Enter Region 9 (on some versions you may have to enter 0 here)
The unit is now permanently REGION-FREE

I tried this a few weeks ago and it didn't work. It allowed me to set region 1 to watch US DVDs but would not allow 0 or 9.
