In the corner country the noise of the corrugations will drown out the tyre &/or roofrack noise. Problem solved.

Well, the alignment helped a little, and as each day went by the tyres 'wore in' I guess and got a quieter.
We got back from our trip last night and I can say that a combination of the tyres getting quieter, and us getting used to the noise, we had a good trip.
On the dirt, there was no issue, and the no-so-smooth tar on country NSW roads was quieter than the smooth M4 tar in Sydney.
And yes, the corrugations solved any remaining issues. But I must say they D3 with air suspension was brilliant on corrugations, our traveling companions were in a Prado and we defiantly had the smoother & quieter ride by a LONG way.
After traveling 3500km in 2 weeks I can say the D3 is a great touring vehicle. I love it. New MY15 TDv6 D4 in Buckingham Blue

Hi Scott,
I have the same roof rack and had some noise issues at first.
Are there 2 deflector plates at the front?
For the D3 the supplier specifies to fit 2 due to the roof shape. My supplier found this out when I went back to query the noise and quickly got a second.
and yes the D3 is so quiet the roof rack is the noisest thing on the car at freeway speed, no whistles or vibrations just the buffeting noises.
Glad you had a great trip, the ride on corrugations has made a few of my friends jealous as well.
Rgds
