Are Roof Rails standard on D4?
I am just about to buy a D4 and was told buy the dealer that roof rails are extra and no longer factory fitted. I was hoping to move my bars from the D3 to the new D4, but he said I could not do it without paying $800 for roof rails - is this correct as seems a bit odd.

although "bright finish short roof rails and cross bars" are listed as an accessory on the LR website,
it maybe he's confused that with it coming with black as standard?

That's what I thought. He had given me a good deal and then he used this to move the price up by $800!
Maybe I will call Land Rover Australia tomorrow to confirm - I hope he is not lying as up to now he has been very good and so I would be disappointed.
Having just ordered a D4, in the UK, roof rails are only fitted as standard on the XS and HSE, factory fitted option on the GS. Full length rails are an option on all models as is the bright finish. Hope this helps.2018 D5 3.0 HSE Lux

No, not standard on Australian models. I have a D4 HSE TDV6 on order. Privacy glass is a strange omission from Australian models too (apparently it doesn't meet Australian Design Rules...).

Roof Rails are only standard on the V8 spec in Australia.
All other models it is an option to have either full length or short & black or silver.

Rhino ones should still fit I would think.“There are only three sports: bullfighting, motor racing, and mountaineering; all the rest are merely gamesâ€

Thanks
Thats what I had hoped as the sales person was very helpful and it would have soured things a little - but it seemed odd not having roof rails as standard - I guess LR Australia are cutting costs!

Aftermarket is cheaper
Hi,
I got quoted $600 factory list price, $800 installed.
Compare this to $277 installed for Rhino rails from Roof Rack World. Sit a bit lower / more streamlined.Suzuki Vitara 3dr

I took the rails and bars off D3 fitted straight on D4, gave dealer back the cover strips to put on D3 and kept cover strips off D3, exactly the same
Cheers Ken
